Daisy Fleabane

If you’ve had pets, you’ve had fleas in your home. These daisy-like members of the Aster family are rumored to chase them away. That’s why they’re called Daisy Fleabane (Erigeron Anuus for you Latin buffs.)

The flowers are only about a 1/2″ in diameter. If you look closely, you can just make out the little white flecks on their yellow eyes. These native Iowans grow just about anywhere they can get full sun and bloom all summer long.
