We have more than our share of creative people in Louisa County.  One of them is Krissy, a farm wife who decorates eggs in ways I’d never imagined.

The egg I have pictured here is one of her simpler ones.

She doesn’t just paint her eggs, she carves them with a dentist drill, and adorns them with little treasures.  If you visit her blog you’ll see miniature hand baskets that she’s made from Emu eggs and a lattice work egg that is truly astounding.

My personal favorite has a beautifully painted fish swishing gleefully at the entrance to its egg shell home.

Krissy’s work has won a number of awards.  She tells me that Laura Bush was given one of her eggs at a national show.

I encourage you to visit her blog, for more pictures and a step by step description of how she makes a lattice work egg.
