5. Mushrooming. Louisa County is home to Morel mushrooms:  fun to hunt and good to eat.

4.  Birding.  Approximately 240 species of migratory birds pass through Louisa County each spring and fall.  They range from warblers (usually heard, rather than seen) to ducks and geese.

3. Fishing. Wouldn’t it be great to live only 15 minutes from your favorite fishing hole?  Your choice of cat fish, bass, walleye, or pan fish.

2. Golf. Two golf courses.  (Indian Hills is my favorite. A beautiful course with a challenging back 9). Very low greens fees or club dues.  No reservations needed.

1. Your own garden. Wouldn’t YOU rather be gardening than sitting in traffic?
